Regional Young Actors Ensemble
The Regional Young Actors Ensemble is an initiative between three partner venues - Derby Theatre, Live Theatre Newcastle and Hull Truck Theatre. Thanks to financial support from Hull UK City of Culture 2017, young people aged between 18 – 25 have been given the opportunity to audition at a venue in their local area. The pilot project is aimed at supporting young people who are interested in pursuing a professional career in the theatre.
As part of the programme, the ensemble will present and perform a piece as part of the Hull UK City of Culture 2017 celebrations, which will be directed by Sarah Brigham, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Derby Theatre.
Regional Young Actors Ensemble has recruited approximatley 30 young people overall, who perhaps may face some difficulty in progressing with their ambitions. The challenges they may face could be financial, transport, geographical location or support from friends and family.
Congratulations to the successful applicants for Derby Theatre's Young Actors Ensemble! They are: Jess Brodie, Alice Byrne, Katie Cannon, Fleur Evangeline, Maisy-Flo Hepburn, Tom McLachlan, James Millerin, Khari Moore, Leonie Slater, Renee Squire.
