Associate Companies

Home is Where the Art Is

At the heart of In Good Company is a group of Associate Companies, who benefit from a full and bespoke programme of development opportunities to take them to the next level in their creative quest. They'll have all the advantages of the IGC programme on tap, an all-you-can-eat buffet of creative events and multiple opportunities to perform from Scratch That Itch to headlining festivals in the region.

Our associates are chosen through a competative open access call-out and application process. We had over fourty applications from regional artists in 2016 and the next call-out will happen in summer 2018. During their two-years as IGC associates our associate artists receive:

- £2000 towards making work

- £800 for artistic mentorship and development

- Bespoke company mentorship from IGC producers

- Access to free rehearsal space at all IGC partner venues

- Opportunities to perform at our flagship performance festivals

- Free access to all IGC masterclasses

Without the support of In Good Company we would not have had the confidence, financial support or infrastructure to achieve and sustain the ambitious and crucial development period we are currently undertaking' Maison Foo (associate artists 2014/15)

2016-2018 Associate Companies

Flickbook Theatre

Flickbook Theatre are a Lincoln-based company who are intent on devising vibrant and brave theatre. They are experimental and multi-disciplinary theatre makers who glory in the little absurdities of real life. Their philosophy is 'Whatever floats your boat’ (but doesn’t sink anyone else's).

During their time as IGC Associate Artists they have been developing a new show called Casket Case, which premiered at Departure Lounge Festival 2017. They recieved Arts Council Funding to make the show and will be touring it o eight venues across the midlands in 2018.

NotNow Collective

NotNow Collective was founded by two regionally-based Croatian artists, Tina Hofman and Kristina Gavran out of necessity to make their caring roles visible and explore ways of integrating parenthood into both professional practice and quality theatre experiences.

During their time as IGC associates NotNow Collective have re-made and toured their debut show 'Wonderwoman: The Naked Truth' and started developing their follow-up show 'DadMan: Bathtime Warrior' both with the support of Arts Council England. They are also developing their model of Baby-Friendly performances and hope to roll out bespoke consultation for venues soon.

Louise White

Louise White is an artist who is passionate about theatre without a fourth wall and whose work is highly interactive and creates a sense of community - devised theatre with participation at its heart, a mix of autobiography, social contexts and a pinch of the ridiculous.

During her time as an IGC associate Artist Louise White has continued to tour her debut show 'Debris' across the midlands and is now developing a new show 'The Dead Sea' with the support of Arts Council England and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.

David Ralfe

David Ralfe is an artist who trained at the Jacques Lecoq Theatre School and on the National Theatre Director’s Course. For the past five years, David has been creating and touring shows with his company On The Run, and he is currently working on international projects in China and Georgia with the British Council. Over the coming months, he’ll be setting up a brand new company, based in the East Midlands.

During his time as an IGC Associate Artist David has set up a new company, Serious Business, specifically exploring toxic masculinity and male identity. With the support of Arts Council England and China Plate's First Bite Commission he is developing a new show called 'Captain Simon' which will premiere in 2018.
