Coronavirus Statement

First of all, we hope you are all keeping safe and well under the current situation surrounding Coronavirus.

The safety and well-being of audiences, participants and staff continues to be of paramount importance to us.

During these challenging and unprecedented times for us all, the Theatre continues to take advice and instruction from all relevant sources and authorities, and as such, we have had to take the unfortunate decision to extend the closure of our building for now and cancel ALL performances and events up to, and including, Saturday 27 June.

Learning events, including all youth theatre groups, will not be running at the theatre during this period. However some groups will be running online and members will be contacted seperately with details on how to participate.

Due to these uncertain times, and restrictions on advance planning and preparation, we are sad to announce that our production of Lord of the Flies, in co-production with the fantastic Hull Truck Theatre, will unfortunately not go ahead as planned this autumn.

Please do not contact us, we will contact you to arrange your refund, credit or donation. Credit will be available to use on any show at Derby Theatre – as, if and when shows are available to book in the future.

For refund requests, we aim to process these as soon as possible, but as we are down to just one member of staff processing refunds and other ticket requests, this may take us a little longer than usual.

- Card refunds will be actioned within a week of request back onto the original payment card used

- Cash and Theatre Token refunds will take slightly longer and you will be contacted individually about this

No existing booking will automatically be transferred over to a future/rescheduled show. As you can imagine, we are processing lots of existing bookings at present, so please bear with us.

If after two weeks from submitting your request you have still not received your refund please email Heidi McKenzie or text 07717 346 964

We are currently taking online bookings only for any event/production AFTER Saturday 27 June, BUT in this fast-moving, ever-changing situation, we will contact all existing bookers for any future productions beyond this time asap, should the situation change.

Please Consider Donating...

Derby Theatre is a charity and with having to close and cancel performances we are now preparing for a significant drop in our income.

We appreciate you have a lot to think about at this time but we would be extremely grateful if you would consider donating the value of your ticket, or a portion of the value, if you are affected by this closure.

When an event is cancelled, we will be in touch with all ticket holders as soon as possible with refund information and alternative options, including the opportunity to donate, should you wish to do so.

We recognise that this time of uncertainty affects everybody differently, but if you are in a position to help us remain a vital part of the community, we would be hugely grateful.

If you have not been affected by a show cancellation but will still like to donate to support Derby Theatre's re-opening and future, please click here.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding the Coronarvirus situation, we do not know when the Theatre will re-open as yet.

Any future updates will appear on our website and social media platforms, as well as included in direct communications sent to people on our database.

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
