Available to people from the East Midlands region

Watch on YouTube

A fantastic opportunity for East Midlands-based Black and Asian people to find out more and to gain a fascinating insight into working in a theatre environment and the various opportunities available.

The event will include Rinkoo Barpaga and other Deaf artists giving talks and explaining different ways to get involved in theatre, and how artists can develop their work. There will be plenty of opportunities for those taking part to ask questions.

As part of this event, participants will also be offered a free ticket to see the morning performance of Treasure Island, Derby Theatre's spectacular, swashbuckling Christmas production for 2021, where all performances are BSL integrated and Captioned.

Rinkoo Barpaga is a relatively new and emerging theatre maker. He is profoundly Deaf and uses BSL. He is based in the West Midlands and is supported by The Birmingham REP’s Foundry, and DYCP Arts Council England.
