Deaf Youth Theatre

Derby Theatre is absolutely thrilled to have launched the Deaf Youth Theatre group in Autumn 2018.

The Deaf Youth Theatre group will be a fully accessible theatre group for young people aged 11-18 who are Deaf, deafened or hard of hearing, and their friends/siblings and will be a perfect opportunity to develop confidence, range of expression and performance skills. 

The Youth Theatre will be run and supported by professional practitioners where BSL communication and interpretation will be provided at each session.

The group will run weekly over three terms at Derby Theatre. The sessions will run on Wednesdays from 5pm until 6.30pm on the following dates:

Autumn Term 2021 Commences Wednesday 22 September, 5 - 6.30pm

The cost to join the group is £45 per term. Half-price and full-price bursaries are available, please contact Sam George on s.george@derby.ac.uk.

Derby Theatre is running a taster day for our Deaf Youth Theatre on Sunday 19 September, taking place on the Main Stage at Derby Theatre itself.

This is a chance for deaf young people aged 11-18 who may be interested in joining the group to come and find out more, meet people from the Theatre and to take part in fun workshops led by Deafinitely Theatre and Emily Howlett.
