From Thursday 21 until Sunday 24 JulyDEparture Lounge once again saw Derby Theatre transformed into a festival site where audiences and artists alike could see the very best in contemporary theatre and support artists to take flight. We transformed Derby Theatre again for DEparture Lounge in 2016, with our Main Auditorium becoming a lush Garden Stage, and even our Car Park getting a summer makeover into the stylish paradise of Derbados - this year becoming a woodland retreat!

Package Holiday

This year we teamed up with The HopBarn to offer a package holiday for one lucky company to develop their work in the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside and preview it at DEparture Lounge Festival. After a competitive application process we're delighted that LaPelle's Factory developed their new show Desperado in the peace and quiet of The HopBarn for two weeks.

The HopBarn is a new rehearsal/performance space with on-site accommodation converted from an old barn, situated on a working farm in Southwell. Find out more at www.thehopbarn.org.uk or on Twitter @TheHopBarn
