FREE Zoom Workshop
Friday 4 December, 11am -12.30pm

As this event is part of a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) initiative, we will require you to be enrolled in The Big House Programme. If you are not already enrolled, you will find the appropriate form at: https://bighouse.org.uk/enrolment-forms.

Join Ayumi Konno, facilitator and employability coach, for an interactive workshop on identifying your 'growth mindset' and using it to learn from rejection or turbulent times.

Embracing failure, building resilience and setting goals are vital skills for creatives trying to forge a path in 2020, and all of these skills are underpinned by the growth mindset - the idea that everything can be learnt.

A growing pool of research (1,2) shows that your brain is like a muscle, and it grows more when you get an answer wrong and use the right mindset, than when you get it right. When you're trying to build a career in the creative industry, set-backs are going to be an integral part of your journey. Join Ayumi to identify how you can take control and use your mindset to grow from whatever life throws at you.

If you require BSL for this workshop, please email s.hack@derby.ac.uk 5 days before the workshop takes place.

You will be sent a Zoom link, meeting ID and password an hour before the workshop via email. This information will be sent to the email address on the account used when signing up to this event, if you have any questions or accessibility requests please email s.hack@derby.ac.uk.

NB: We will be documenting the event. If you do not wish to be included in images or videos that may be used later for marketing purposes, please let us know beforehand. This project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014 - 2020.
