Here's a behind-the-scenes insight into how some of them were designed and made... Looking Back at Brassed Off Performed in Autumn 2015, Brassed Off remains Derby Theatre's best-selling drama ever and the run included a special Gala Night to celebrate the venue's 40th anniversary. Looking Back at Kes Performed in Autumn 2013, Kes was the second Derby Theatre production and the first to be directed by Artistic Director Sarah Brigham. Looking Back at Great Expectations Performed in Autumn 2017, this ambitious staging of Charles Dickens' timeless novel is remembered for its creative use of real fire and water as part of the set design. Watch our behind-the-scenes playlist to see how the show was brought to life. Looking Back at The Rise and Fall of Little Voice Performed in Autumn 2014, look back at our production of Jim Cartwright's classic musical comedy. Since meeting on the production, actors Rebecca Brierley and Tom Meredith (who played Little Voice and her love interest, Billy) have got married. Watch their self-filmed snippet from the show at their home during lockdown. Looking Back at JOAN In recognition of June being Pride Month and celebrating LGBTQ+ members of our communities and our brilliant associate company, Milk Presents, take a look back at our co-production of JOAN. Looking Back at TWO We go back to the pub and our Spring 2018 production of TWO, Jim Cartwright's moving two-hander. Actors Sean McKenzie and Jo Mousley played 14 different characters between them on a set that included an on-stage working bar and experience seats. Looking Back at Abi Performed in Autumn 2018 and part of Derby Theatre's RETOLD series, Abi was a one-woman play written by the talented Atiha Sen Gupta, starring Safiyya Ingar. Abi was also a contemporary response piece to Mike Leigh's cult classic, Abigail's Party. Looking Back at Look Back in Anger For our final Memory Box show, we're heading all the way back to Spring 2016 for John Osborne's Look Back In Anger, our co-production with Octagon Theatre Bolton.
