Derby Theatre - A Learning Theatre
Derby Theatre is alive with exciting ways for you to get involved and find out more about all aspects of theatre. We offer exceptional opportunities for our diverse audiences, schools, students, young people and artists to really get to grips with our creative process and product through an innovative programme of workshops, projects, open rehearsals, conferences, talks and more.
Derby Theatre and cultural organisations Baby People, Déda, Artcore, and Wrongsemble called out to young people and families to reimagine a future post-Covid-19 and get involved in a new digital creative project during lockdown. There were 3 ways to get involved. Click to find out more.
For Children and Young People
We have lots of opportunities for children and young people to get involved. Why not develop your performance and confidence skills, learn about technical theatre backstage, take part in a holiday workshop, experiment with writing for the stage or join our Youth Theatre? We still have opportunties to get involved in this Summer's holiday workshops so why not join us and work on a mini performance to be performed at the end of the summer school.
NEW: Theatre Company for 17-25 Year Olds
Applications now open! In 2020, we will be launching a new company for 17 -25 year olds, who will work with professional practitioners to explore the ingredients that create exceptional theatre. This FREE opportunity is targeted at young people who face financial barriers.
