Big House: Produce Scheme announces supported artists
Following the successful launch of brand new pioneering scheme Big House: Produce in October 2020, Derby Theatre and In Good Company are pleased to announce the eight theatre makers who have since been paired with four local freelance theatre producers to provide vital support as we emerge from the pandemic.
We’re thrilled to be able to provide this substantial support to:
- Andrea Turner, Artistic Director of Tinderbox Performing Arts;
- Siobhan Cannon Brownlie, theatre maker and Artistic Director of Major Labia;
- Dance practitioner Kerryn Wise;
- Rebecca Muir, founder of Bexstar Entertainment Productions
- Director, writer and facilitator Omar Khan;
- Freelance producer and co-producer of Hubbub Theatre, Karla Jones
- Artistic Director of Ditto Theatre Company, Sophie Hatton.
The Journey So Far
We’ve worked with Joseph Rynhart to design video case studies highlighting the journey some of these theatre makers have been on so far...
Next Round of Artist Support
In June we will be pairing up eight additional artists with our consultant producers to receive 12 hours of bespoke support.
Who is eligible?
Theatre makers and companies based in the Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire area and who have seen a change in plans due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown resulting in new shows or projects being delayed or changed.
Priority will be given to new or existing Big House clients who have received under 12 hours of support so far.
How do we access it?
Sign up as client of The Big House. Being a client of The Big House programme allows you to learn new skills through regular workshops, get one-to-one mentoring and get a clearer picture of where to go next with your career or business idea.
Once you’re signed up, or if you are an existing client, you will then attend a scoping meeting with our Creative Producer Ben. Based on your needs, we’ll then put together a bespoke package of online workshops and one-to-one mentoring, including potentially pairing you with one of our consultants on our Big House: Produce programme to help get you on the right track, and ready to make your next step.
The Big House is a business support programme, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and Arts Council England.
