Casting Call: The Palace of Varieties (Research and Development Workshop)

Background

Derby Theatre are looking for 3 versatile actors to take part in a week long Research & Development period for a new work by Kevin Fegan, Palace of Varieties.

Directed by Sarah Brigham, the play is inspired by the life of Bolsover (Derbyshire) MP, Dennis Skinner, and the social and political history over the 49 years he’s served as an MP.

The R&D week will be an exploratory week and lead to an informal sharing of the script at the end of the week.
The actors will play other roles as required and we are looking for actors who enjoy working with new writing and exploring new material.

If the play is taken to production actors involved in the R&D will be invited to audition but being part of phase 1 does not guarantee a role in the final production.
