Derby Theatre to launch new company Theatre Makers
Derby Theatre will be launching a new company Theatre Makers in January 2019.
The company is for young people age 16-21 who are interested in developing theatre making and performance skills as an ensemble. The group will run across two terms and will culminate in the creation of a brand new contemporary, innovative performance that will be programmed as part of Derby Theatre’s Departure Lounge festival in July.
The group will be led by theatre maker and performer Laura Ryder, whose recent show ‘The Bee Project’ was developed with the support of Derby Theatre and toured with great success. https://www.derbytheatre.co.uk/news/bee-project-studio-blog
Workshops will take place at Derby Theatre on Mondays, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, across the Spring and Summer terms.
Full commitment is needed, and therefore you must be available on the following dates:
Spring term: 14 Jan, 21 Jan, 28 Jan, 4 Feb, 11 Feb, 25 Feb, 4 Mar, 11 Mar, 18 Mar, 25 Mar, 1 Apr and 8 Apr.

Membership fees are £80 per term (£160 in total). There are a limited number of half price or full bursaries available for applicants with limited financial means.
If you are interested in joining the group and creating theatre with likeminded people, would love the opportunity to perform at a nationally renowned festival and are a dedicated individual, then we’d love to hear from you.
All applicants will be informed if they have a place within week commencing 17 December.
