Two loves lost

1954, Lord Montagu of Beaulieu is arrested and convicted for homosexuality. A scandal for a nation that decries ‘unnatural acts’ between two men. In England and Wales, there were 1,069 men in
prison for homosexual acts.

London 1955, and a young man, John, falls in love with Ed and begins his first true love affair. Unable to be seen publicly, the course of new found love is kept in the shadows of central London.

Two Loves Lost is a one act play directed and produced by Derbyshire LGBT+, and written and performed by members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans* communities of Derbyshire, exploring what it was like to be gay before the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality.

Post show Q&A after 2pm performance.
