FREE Ice Cream Included With Each Ticket
A fun-filled show for under 6s and their families
Gabi and Jaz want to go on holiday, but Gabi and Jaz aren’t going on holiday. They have to stay at home instead.
It’s not fair. What to do? We’ll play at going on holiday!
Join Gabi and Jaz as they gather up their things and, with the magical power of their imaginations, head off on adventures to the beach, a forest and spaghetti land - all without leaving the comfort of their attic.
Inspired by the funny and moving stories told to us by children from Derby, Holiday is the perfect summer treat for children under 6 and their families and friends. Just watch out for that cheeky seagull!
This brand new, charming family show has been created and directed by award-winning director of theatre for Early Years, Sarah Argent, with original music by Ivan Stott (composer of Peter Pan and The Gingerbread Man). Let’s play!
Stay and Play
Before and after performances of Holiday, we also invite you and your children to ‘stay and play’ in our specially designed play area, with a marquee, soft faux grass, play equipment, a dress-up and imagination corner, a sand pit, themed craft activities… and where you can claim your FREE ice cream!
Children's Lunch Boxes -£3 each
Lunch boxes for children will be available to buy from our Café for only £3 each, which includes a sugar-free drink, either a cheese, ham or vegan sandwich and a healthy snack (gluten free sandwiches also available). We also have a tempting menu of food for ‘older theatregoers’ available.
A few useful things before 'packing'...
Affordable Car Parking in intuDerby*: you can purchase an all-day intu car park ticket for only £4 (available on the same day as you are seeing the performance) – which means you can see the show and stay and play for longer! Simply present your show ticket and hand over intu car park entry ticket at the Theatre Café on arrival and request to exchange it for a special £4 ticket. *Please note £4 car park tickets are subject to availability. Please check on arrival.
Buggies and Prams: we will be offering a supervised area to store prams and buggies shortly before, after and during the run of each performance.
Accessibility: we have lift access to all floors and an accessible toilet at each level. See below for dates and links to all accessible performances...

Dementia Friendly Performance
Saturday 4 August, 1:30pm
This performance is carefully tailored so people living with dementia and their families and carers can enjoy the magic of a theatre trip in a supportive environment.
We are already pretty laid back at Derby Theatre, but there will be a more relaxed attitude to leaving and re-entering the studio theatre and making noise, the house lights will be kept slightly on and there will be a quiet space available for use at any time before, during and after the show.
There will also be plenty of our friendly staff available to offer assistance on the day too, including staff who are Dementia Friends.
If you do have any questions regarding access, parking or familiarisation tickets please do email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
