Studio Autumn 2019
Originally from Essex, Gavin has travelled all over Europe and has now settled in Helsinki, Finland. His experiences from these travels, particularly cultural differences, encounters with foreign sign language users, hearing people and his family members are shared with the audience in a hilarious manner.
With warmth and humour that cuts to the bone, Neal Pike explores identity, community and the parts of him that were shaped by Foxwood, a special educational needs school in Nottinghamshire. Five Years is about trying to hold on to a sense of who you are during those messy, brutal and mundane years of adolescence.
A solo show about identity, being a mixed-race black woman and always feeling like an outsider. Blending live vocal looping and spoken word, WHITE carefully considers the concept of mixed-race privilege, tries to connect clashing cultures and explores what it means to grow up mixed in contemporary Britain.
