Support Derby Theatre
A message from Sarah Brigham (Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Derby Theatre)
The health and wellbeing of our audiences, community and staff are of paramount importance to us.
As I’m sure you are aware – based on the latest government guidance, we regret that we must cancel all performances until Saturday 27 June.
As well as protecting visitors, we must however, also consider the financial implications of the coronavirus and the potentially damaging impact on Derby Theatre as a business and a charity.
With the difficult decision to take productions off sale, and take other unprecedented measures, we are now preparing for a significant drop in our income, to the extent that our long-term viability could very soon be compromised.
We appreciate you have lots to think about at this time, but I would be really grateful if you would consider donating to Derby Theatre.
We recognise that this time of uncertainty affects everybody differently, but if you are in a position to help us remain a vital part of the community, we would be hugely grateful.
I am enormously proud of our role in Derby’s cultural life, and the incredibly positive impact the Theatre has had on the lives of so many. We are a resilient and positive bunch here at the Theatre, and I am determined that we must strive to go on to continue enriching people’s lives long into the future. I hope you are in a position to help ensure this is the case by giving a donation today.
Thank you, once again, for your support and your understanding. We remain grateful and send all our best wishes to you and your loved ones’ health and well-being.
Look after yourself and others,
Chief Executive and Artistic Director
